A New Jersey family is grieving the devastating death of their 6-year-old daughter, Lucy Morgan, who died in a strange accident while on vacation. The incident occurred when Lucy was watching her family play badminton.
During the game, a racquet broke during a downward swing, and a piece of metal from the handle came off, striking Lucy in the head and suffering a severe brain injury.
Lucy’s father, Pastor Jesse Morgan, revealed the terrible circumstances on his blog, New Creation Living. He described how June 1 began like any other day on their family vacation in Limerick, Maine. However, the day took an unexpected turn, and he now feels his little girl is with Jesus.
The family instantly recognised the gravity of Lucy’s injury. Jesse said on his blog that after the metal piece impacted Lucy, she became unresponsive but continued to breathe on her own. His wife, Bethany Morgan, escorted Lucy in the ambulance to a tiny hospital before she was airlifted to Maine Medical Centre in Portland. They realised Lucy’s life was in great jeopardy.
“When she arrived, she went straight to the operating room, where they removed part of her skull to relieve pressure and treat her injury. “She coded, they brought her back, and they finished the surgery,” Jesse said on his blog. “In the PICU we are being told that there is a very slim chance she recovers.” Jesse Morgan revealed that his daughter had just expressed her wish to be with God.
Lucy told her parents about a month before the disaster that she wanted to be rescued and live with God. Jesse said that Lucy asked her mother about getting saved, and after a little chat, she went into her room to pray.
“She went to her chamber and asked God to pardon her, stating that she believed in Jesus’ death and resurrection. He wrote, “What a gift.” Despite medical treatment, Lucy never fully recovered from her injury. Jesse revealed that the metal piece pierced her skull, causing terrible injury.
Doctors advised the family that she would most likely not live. There is no blog post today. Lucy Lynn Morgan died this morning, about 4 a.m. She now meets Jesus face-to-face. Thank you for all the love you have shown us. This photo was taken earlier in the day during our goodbyes.
The day before her death, he wrote, “The significant lack of brain function over the past 48 hours demonstrates this reality, which we are completely devastated by.” If there is any good news here, it is that she hasn’t been in any pain in the last few days. “We will keep waiting on the Lord, getting second opinions, and exhausting every possible avenue while crying out to God for a miracle,” he said. “However, our beautiful daughter has been showing all indicators of brain death for the previous three days. There is a strong likelihood she will die and meet Jesus within 24 hours.
Following the tragedy, the family has received outpourings of love and support. Many individuals flocked to social media to compliment Lucy and her family. Dan Cruver, Jesse Morgan’s former professor, praised his character in a Facebook post.
