Jay Leno’s wife, Mavis Leno, continues to struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, sometimes forgetting about Jay, her comedian husband, with whom she has lived for more than four decades. The deterioration in health occurred shortly after Jay applied for custody.
On page six, there were documents indicating that Mavis’s court-appointed lawyer, Ronald Austin, had reported on the continued deterioration of her health. It is reported that Mavis “sometimes does not know either her husband […] or the date of her birth.”

Despite being diagnosed with advanced dementia, Mavis remains in a good mood. Mavis’ neurologist, Dr. Hart Cohen, said that 77-year-old Mavis experiences severe disorientation and often thinks about her deceased parents.
Ronald described Mavis as an attractive and sociable woman suffering from cognitive impairment. “She expressed a desire to vote and told me a little bit about her charity work,” Ronald said.
