Taylor Swift had an incredible evening at the 40th annual MTV Video Music Awards,
where she walked away with seven awards, including the top prize for her video “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone.
Following the September 11th event, Swift broke even more records, becoming the solo artist with the most career VMA wins, and the artist with the most video of the year wins.
In her acceptance speech for her third consecutive award for video of the year, she thanked her boyfriend Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who was not at the event.
“When I’d finish a take, and I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take, I’d always just hear someone like cheering and like ‘whoo’ from across the studio,” she shares. “And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic.”
‘Worst stylist ever’
But it wasn’t just her collection of awards or her acceptance speech that created conversations.
Before slipping into a UFO-inspired dress for her appearances on stage, the “Eras Tour” star walked the red carpet in a tartan corset and skirt by Dior, thigh-high boots and fingerless gloves that stretched past her elbows.
Fans were divided on the dramatic plaid look, some critics saying she has the “worst stylist ever.”
“Money doesn’t dress classy,” shares one fan while a second writes, “Whoever dresses her needs to be let go.”
But not everyone was ripping apart her “Clueless meets Avril Lavigne” style.
“I actually dig this outfit! Not the same as everyone else!” one user notes of Swift’s unique sense of style.
Snother netizen compares Swift’s yellow and black gown to one of the Hogwarts houses colors from Harry Potter: “I’m digging this outfit. Looks amazing and also very Hufflepuffy.”
Fillers and lifts
Overlooking her bold fashion choices, some fans suggested the “Shake it Off” singer had some surgical tweaks.
One cyber fan is convinced the star had “lip fillers,” while others were obsessed with the noticeable lift of her chest.
“Damn…T swift with the boob job, man, times have changed,” pens one netizen while a second says, “Love Taylor and zero judgement but did she get a boob job?”
Offering an explanation for Swift’s busty look, another says “The push up bra pushed way too much!!!”
While Swift has never publicly admitted to having any cosmetic procedures, some online users insist she has a classic artificial nose and is “quickly approaching a stuffed-and-frozen look.”
“I love her, but obvious nose job. That’s disappointing,” a cybernaut writes of her nose.
Another adds, “The plastic surgery and fillers are starting to look quite obvious. She honestly looks like a wax statue of Taylor Swift.”
