On May 6th, a new era began for Britain as Charles was crowned King. The magnificent ceremony was joyously celebrated by numerous people on the streets of London. Many royals and distinguished guests, including presidents and prime ministers, attended the event.
But when Charles became king, there was another important royal celebration happening in sunny California. Prince Archie, the son of Harry and Meghan, turned four years old.
Before the coronation took place, the couple made it clear that if they were to attend it, they wanted their young son’s birthday to be acknowledged.
Harry was the sole supporter of his father on his important day, as Meghan stayed home with the kids preparing for a simple birthday celebration.
Omid Scobie, a royal commentator, discussed how important Archie’s birthday was in Meghan’s decision to stay in the US instead of joining her husband in London.
Scobie mentioned on Twitter that Prince Harry will make a quick trip to the UK for the coronation at Westminster Abbey, taking into account Archie’s fourth birthday on May 6.
Despite Meghan’s absence at the coronation, Charles made sure to acknowledge his grandson Archie, whom he rarely sees. He raised a glass in a heartfelt toast to celebrate Archie turning four. This special moment took place during a private gathering that occurred shortly after King Charles was crowned at Westminster Abbey. The family also made an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony in London, although Harry chose not to attend despite being invited.
Harry was in a hurry to catch a flight back home and celebrate Archie’s birthday. He also wanted to make sure he got back in time to put his son to bed after the birthday festivities. As per reports, Harry got on a plane at 3:45 pm and arrived in Los Angeles around 6:55 pm local time.
Archie celebrated his birthday with family and friends. Sources mentioned that Meghan baked a lemon cake with fruits from their garden for the occasion.
Photographer Misan Harriman, a dear friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, celebrated Archie’s birthday by sharing a photo from the Netflix documentary. The picture captures baby Archie gently touching a photograph of the late Princess Diana.
Some people thought the picture was adorable, while others believed it was meant to steal attention from Charles’ coronation.
Birthday wishes came pouring in as a number of fans sent messages to the Sussexes.
Someone wrote, “Archie, Happy Birthday! We love you and your family. We can’t wait to see pictures. Blessings to you. Today is special because of you.”
