Prince William feared Prince Harry was ‘blindsided by lust’ when dating Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been married for more than six years. Their grand wedding in May 2018 was spectacular, but it didn’t take long before things started crackling. The couple left royal life two years later, and what once was a great relationship with their UK family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, is gone today.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married only two years after their first blind date in London. The couple quickly fell in love, and not long after, Meghan Markle decided to move to the UK to be with her boyfriend.

However, Prince Harry’s apparent overflowing love for Meghan was not only positive among his family members. Prince William urged his brother to take it slow—and according to one royal author, it was because he felt something was wrong.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s love story goes back many years. Meghan Markle’s friend set up a date for the couple in 2016.

In their Netflix series Harry & Meghan, the now Duchess described how she was in London for the Wimbledon tennis tournament in 2016 when she and Harry initially made plans to meet.

They scheduled a dinner, though things could have gotten off to a better start. Harry and Meghan were to meet at the Soho House in London, but the actress was forced to wait on her date for 30 minutes as Harry was running late.

“I couldn’t understand why he would be late,” Meghan said in the series. “But he kept texting. He was like, ‘I’m in traffic. I’m so sorry.’”

“I was panicking, I was freaking out,” Harry added. “I was, like, sweatin’.”

Once Harry walked into the restaurant, though, Meghan quickly realized his being late wasn’t part of any tactic or plan.

“I was a hot, sweaty, red ball of mess,” Harry recalled.

“You were just so sweet,” Meghan added. “You were genuinely so embarrassed and late.”

The first date, which Meghan said was “refreshingly fun,” lasted about an hour. The next day, the couple met again – coincidentally, Meghan was five minutes late.

Prince Harry revealed first big fight with Meghan Markle in his book ‘Spare’

By all accounts, Harry was over the moon when he started dating Meghan.

A friend who appeared in the couple’s documentary explained how happy and excited the prince was. Meghan, meanwhile, described how she and Harry shared a special connection from the beginning. Though their relationship was initially long-distance – a secret to the world – it never stopped them.

“Everything was text and FaceTime, we’d talk for hours. It felt exciting but not in the way people would assume it would be,” Meghan said. “It was just relaxed and easy.”

Harry and Meghan eventually began dating, and everything went smoothly. But just like any couple, they also had fights. In his book Spare, Harry revealed an incident in 2016 that saw him snap at his then-girlfriend.

“Maybe the wine went to my head. Maybe the weeks of battling the press had worn me down. For some reason, when the conversation took an unexpected turn, I became touchy,” Harry wrote.

“Then angry. Disproportionately, sloppily angry.”

Harry explained that Meghan took a comment he had made “the wrong way” because of their “cultural difference.” He then spoke to her “harshly” and “cruelly.”

“As the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop. The gravy stopped bubbling, the molecules of air stopped orbiting. Even Nina Simone seemed to pause.”

“She would never stand for being spoken to like that”

Meghan left the room and disappeared. He recalled her being away for a “full 15 minutes,” before he found her in their bedroom.

“She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that. I nodded. She wanted to know where it came from,” Harry wrote in Spare. He remembered Meghan saying:” ‘Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman? Did you overhear adults speak that way when you were growing up?’ I cleared my throat, looked away [and responded], ‘Yes.’”

Meghan continued by saying she would never “tolerate” a partner or co-parent who yelled at her as he had done.

“She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect. She laid it all out, super-clear,” Prince Harry wrote, noting that both he and Meghan “knew” that his anger wasn’t a result of their conversation.

“It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be excavated, and it was obvious that I could use some help with the job,” Harry explained.

“‘I’ve tried therapy,’ I told her. ‘Willy told me to go. Never found the right person.’ [It] didn’t work. ‘No,’ she said softly. ‘Try again.’”

Meghan Markle speaks with Prince William

When Meghan Markle first met Harry, and the two started dating, the former actress was introduced to the Royal Family, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William. In the beginning, Meghan and William formed a great relationship, which was crucial.

Prince William & Meghan Markle – relationship

In what has been called the “Pro-Sussex” biography Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote that William and Meghan got “along so well” after their first meeting.”

For her part, Meghan was nervous about meeting William for the first time. She expected her relationship with him to be “trying” from the off. According to the authors, she “thought William would no doubt want to know everything about her and her intentions.

“She was self-aware enough to understand that the brothers were wary of women who were more interested in their titles than their wellbeing,” Scobie and Durand wrote.

“And she couldn’t have come from a more different world than that of William, his wife, and most of their friends.”

A friend of Meghan’s told the authors that she prepared herself for a grilling session with William. But their first meeting turned out great.

According to the authors, William told Meghan: “I was looking forward to meeting the girl who has put that silly grin on my brother’s face.”

Even though William initially appeared to like Meghan, he was also concerned. Harry and Meghan’s relationship moved exceptionally quickly after a friend set them up on a blind date—and according to Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie, the future king had troubles with it.

About a year before their wedding—and about a year after they began dating—Prince William wanted to talk with his older brother about Meghan.

Prince William was concerned Harry was “blindsided by lust,” author claims

William was said to have told his brother, “Don’t feel you need to rush this,” and “Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl.”

Scobie and Durand continued by saying that Harry was “pissed off” that William even asked him to take it slow, while the phrase “the girl” bothered him.

Later, Omid Scobie, who’s been closely connected to the Sussexes for years, said William “just wanted to make sure that Harry wasn’t blindsided by lust.”

William is also reported to have voiced concerns about how quickly his brother’s relationship developed, though this was done privately to his aides.

“William soon began to wonder about some of Meghan’s traits and motivations,” a source told the Daily Mail, as revealed by the Express.

“He was worried that at times she seemed to be more concerned about her personal progression or profile over the wider goals and aims of the Royal Family.”

However, William decided to keep those feelings to himself. Why? Because he “desperately wanted her to be happy and appreciated the huge adjustment of entering the Royal Family,” according to the source.

Finding Freedom led to many speculations about what really had happened within the Royal Family. But sadly, Prince William’s relationship and actions weren’t the only things discussed in the book; Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s relationship was also examined.

Sad reason Meghan Markle & Kate Middleton never got along

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton had a hard time getting along, and they never became the backbone of the new Royal Family that many thought.

According to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Meghan and Kate’s strained relationship was caused by their inability to know each other well enough.

“Meghan would agree with the assessment that the Duchesses were not the best of friends,” they wrote in Finding Freedom. “Their relationship hadn’t progressed much since [Markle] was Harry’s girlfriend.”

Moreover, Durand and Scobie added that Kate didn’t make a significant effort to welcome Markle into the family, at least not in the way people might have expected.

Meghan had hoped that Kate would take her under her wing and guide her through all the new things that someone coming from “outside to the Firm” should know about.

That, the authors claim, never happened.

“Meghan was disappointed that she and Kate hadn’t bonded over the position they shared, but she wasn’t losing sleep over it,” Durand and Scobie wrote in Finding Freedom, adding that “Meghan would far rather have had Kate check in on her during the most difficult times with the press.”

Meghan Markle will only sitdown with Royal Family if “two demands” are fullfiled

Today, we all know that the relationship between the Royal Family and the Sussexes is completely destroyed. Rumors about possible peace talks have been many, but time will tell if that will ever happen.

Prince Harry has been rumored to miss his life in the UK, and if peace talks ever take place, it’s most likely that King Charles will be involved, not Prince William and Kate MIddleton.

Although Harry might be open to the idea, Meghan Markle reportedly has two demands that have to be fulfilled before she will even consider a sitdown with the royals.

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Meghan will only back down when “she feels that the Royal Family have been sufficiently nice to her, and grovelingly apologized for the past.”

Of course, the idea that the royals will meet those demands is doubtful.

“Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal Family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologized for the past – it’s not going to happen,” Quinn told the Mirror.

Meghan’s “sense of grievance” is “preventing anything really meaningful happening”

He added that Meghan may be holding Harry back from any peace talks.

He claimed that the Duchess’s “sense of grievance” is “preventing anything really meaningful happening. ” Meghan and Harry have made it clear that they won’t bring their children to the UK due to a perceived lack of protection, which makes any possible reunion even more complicated.
