The couple discovered each other, developed a deep connection, and promptly embarked on creating a future as partners.
The couple’s story may seem recognizable, however, there is a unique element: the man is significantly taller than the woman.
Brittany has faced challenges throughout her life in finding a sense of belonging. She found little comfort in the presence of her controlling parents, often feeling drained after their interactions.
Consequently, she grew to resent her physical appearance and experience feelings of inadequacy.
She faced two different attitudes from men as a plus-size woman: some wanted her to slim down, while others were attracted to her curves.
Due to her unfortunate experiences in relationships, she contemplated giving up on finding love altogether.
However, fate had different intentions for her! She encountered Matt Montgomery through an online platform in August of 2020. Their physical appearances were vastly different, but their souls were connected like never before.
Brittany reflected, “I was a bit hesitant at first. I’ve been in relationships where guys have told me that they will dump me if I don’t start dieting or trying to lose weight. It did affect my self-confidence, and at one point, I did start working out and trying to change my size.”
Following Matt’s proposal on January 30, 2022, the couple wasted no time in starting to make arrangements for their future, displaying their unwavering confidence in their love for each other.
They are entirely comfortable in each other’s presence, yet they deliberated on how outsiders view their relationship.
Matt responded when questioned about the remarks on his Instagram post. “People comment on Instagram and suggest that I’m not big enough or man enough for her.” He added, “I do notice people staring when we walk down the street…”
Their love for each other is unwavering, unaffected by any criticism from outsiders who fail to understand their bond.
Matt hasn’t had good experiences with women who are of “normal” size.
Matt realized Brittany is his soulmate because of how she makes him feel. He loves her for who she is and always strives to make her happy.
He doesn’t hesitate to show his love for her, as he mentioned recently. “You are worthy, you are deserving of infinite love every single day and more. The way I look at you and feel for you and the way you look and feel for me is how I know that we are meant to be.”
He shares a picture of himself and his wife, along with negative comments from other people on similar photos, to show how much he loves his spouse and how strong their relationship is. It’s a powerful response to the critics!
The duo is striving to promote harmony among individuals of varying sizes. She expressed a hope that “mixed-weight relationships were more common and more the norm,” saying, “I wish they were.”
The young couple shared the news of their second child, Lakelyn, due in September 2023 just last month. We wish them all the best.
Discovering true love and pursuing your happiness don’t have strict guidelines to follow.
We must always strive to accept and care for each other, regardless of the circumstances.
