Is Maura going into the jungle or not?

A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that the former Love Island star, 33, would be taking part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! along with the likes of Coleen Rooney, GK Barry and Tulisa.
But while most of the celebs are now in Australia ready to head into camp, people noticed that Maura has been on a work trip in Las Vegas.
It’s even led to people wondering if she’s quit the jungle.
“Are you going in I’m a celeb still?” One fan asked.
And another said: “Should you not be in Australia right now.”
So what’s happening? Is Maura heading into camp after all?
Well, according to The Sun, the former islander *is* going into the jungle, but will be a late addition along with Reverend Richard Coles.
It’s reported the pair will enter camp one week in.
It makes sense then that Maura has been enjoying her last few days before heading into camp, where she’ll be sleeping on a hammock, taking part in brutal challenges and eating rice and beans.
In fact, after sharing a photo of a huge spread of hotel food on her social media, one follower joked: “Making the most of it before the jungle.”
And another said: “Make the most it before those rice and beans haha can’t wait to watch I’m a celeb.”
“Fill up before the jungle,” said a third.

If Maura does enter the jungle, she could be set for an awkward reunion with her ex’s dad.
Before she made her name in TV, Maura worked as a ring girl for several professional boxers including the likes of Anthony Joshua.
During that time, she got together with boxing coach Shane McGuigan when he was commentating on a match in 2018.
Things didn’t quite work out between the pair though, reportedly due to the distance with Maura living in Ireland and travelling for work while McGuigan was based in London.
While he might not be heading into the jungle to go on I’m a Celeb, his dad, Barry McGuigan is.

The Christmas ads have started playing, the supermarkets are full of party food and you’re gearing up to spend your nights in front of the telly.
Yep, the big signs that I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is about to start again.
The ITV show returns to TV this weekend and the stars are now being spotted jetting off to Australia, ready to enter the jungle.
Coleen Rooney has been tipped as this year’s headline signing, reportedly receiving the highest ever fee to appear on the show. And earlier today (11 November) the iconic ‘investigator’ was spotted at Manchester Airport ready to fly Down Under.
So, as Wagatha Christie and others make their way, here’s the reported full I’m A Celeb line up to get you excited:
Coleen Rooney

The mum-of-four is on her way and is said to be a big fan of the show which ‘it’s….. Rebekah Vardy’ herself took part in back in 2017.
Leaving Manchester this morning, Rooney apparently doesn’t appear to be doing I’m A Celeb for the money as an expert previously explaining it’s her opportunity to develop her career and ‘make her family proud’.
Barry McGuigan
He’s arrived (Karwai Tang/WireImage)
The boxing promoter touched down in Australia today, ready to prove himself after previously taking the p**s out of Amir Khan for failing a Bushtucker Trial.
McGuigan is said to have been a late addition to the line-up following Ally McCoist dropping out and even has an awkward link to one of the other stars.
GK Barry
Safe to say the podcaster didn’t enjoy the flight (Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/Getty Images)
The podcaster also landed in Aus earlier on, and told The Mirror she’d ‘drank a bottle of wine’ on the flight. Finding the journey ‘horrendous’ and unable to really confirm she’s going to be on I’m A Celeb, she said: “I am here to go to a retreat, just one with nature.”
The TikToker isn’t the first influencer to go on the show, following Nella Rose last year.
Dean McCullough
He’s ready to collect his koalas ( Tim P. Whitby/Getty Images)
The 32-year-old has arrived and said he’s Down Under to ‘pick up two koalas’ he’s adopted, named ‘Anthony and Declan’.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ was asked if he’d be worried about any snakes or spiders and responded: “I’m alright, I have dealt with enough snakes in my life. It’s not the snakes you need to be worried about.”
Tulisa
The former X Factor judge has arrived (Mike Marsland/WireImage)
The N-Dubz member was spotted in Australia yesterday, seemingly ready to make her big TV comeback.
Apparently, Tulisa has been considered for the show for some time but ‘she’s never wanted to consider it’.
But now, a decade since she left The X Factor and off the back of her group’s tour, it seems like the right time.
Alan Halsall
He’s there and ready to play golf, supposedly (Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images)
No series of I’m A Celeb is complete without a soap star, so the Corrie actor is fulfilling that this year.
The 42-year-old landed in Brisbane on Sunday and told reporters he was just there ‘to play golf’.
Danny Jones
He was first to get there (C Brandon/Redferns)
The McFly star was the first campmate spotted landing in Australia over the weekend, guitar in arm to keep him company before filming begins.
With it being previously reported Tommy Fury pulled out of appearing, it’s said Jones is his replacement – making him the second member of the band to take on the jungle, following winner Dougie Poynter in 2011.
Oti Mabuse
Mabuse is set to star (Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images)
From being a professional on Strictly Come Dancing and judging Dancing on Ice to hosting her documentary, Mabuse has become quite the household name.
The 34-year-old is pretty well loved and ‘always guaranteed to be great fun’.
Maura Higgins
Higgins is set to star (Karwai Tang/WireImage)
Another late addition following Fury’s supposed exit, the Love Island star will be swapping the villa for the jungle camp.
Known for her sense of humour and straight-talking, she’ll be bringing the spice this year.
Rev Richard Coles
He’s set to be in the line-up (Mike Marsland/WireImage)
The former BBC radio host (there’s a theme here) is taking to the jungle and will apparently have some ‘wild’ tales to tell.
Wonder if the priest will be saying a few prayers before chomping down on some gross food and animal bits?
Jane Moore
Loose Women around the fire? (Karwai Tang/WireImage)
Another Loose Women star (joining Barry), because I’m A Celeb doesn’t seem right without any of them.
The 62-year-old is ready for her next challenge as she takes on the jungle Down Under.
Melvin Odoom
Feels like a Radio 1 takeover (Jeff Spicer/Getty Images for Warner Bros. Pictures)
Time for a new radio show from the jungle? Joining McCullough, this makes two current BBC Radio 1 presenters on the series this year.
He’d been rumoured to take part back in 2021 but turned it down.
“I think it’s an amazing show to watch,” he said at the time.
“I think it’s so entertaining, but I don’t think I could hack being in the jungle. I’d be too, too scared.”

Coleen Rooney has lifted the lid on her involvement in I’m A Celebrity, while addressing potential trial exemption rumours.
Best known for being married to Wayne Rooney and her involvement in the infamous ‘Wagatha Christie’ case, the mother-of-four has taken to Instagram to speak to her one million followers about her involvement in the reality TV show for the first time.
Confirming her involvement as one of the contestants in the jungle this year, alongside the likes of GK Barry, Maura Higgins and more, she also addressed rumours about her health.
The 38-year-old posted the video on her account last night (11 November), despite some contestants already touching down in Australia.
She spoke about how she had ‘prepared’ to leave her kids, announcing for the first time: “I can confirm, I am going in the jungle”, further adding, “do you know what, they’ve asked me for so many years now and I’ve just always said ‘no’ or put it off.”
In the video, Coleen revealed two whiteboards behind her that were covered in writing, outlining the children’s timetables and information for those taking care of them in her absence.
But as she is said to become the highest ever I’m a Celeb earner, Coleen will finally be appearing on the ITV programme, explaining that the young ages of her four sons meant that she turned the show down in the past.
Highlighting that she’ll miss her children, Coleen finally confirmed that she will be on I’m a Celeb (Instagram/coleen_rooney)
However, she also addressed reports that recently suggested that her reactive arthritis, which was said to be a consequence of her legal battle with Rebekah Vardy, would stop her from taking part in some trials on I’m a Celebrity.
Coleen explained: “I’m looking forward to doing the trials. There’s been a lot of news saying that I can’t do trials because of certain illnesses and that, but I can confirm I can do every trial.
“So I am not excluded from any – that was just a load of rubbish, and I am, yeah, I’m looking forward to it,” she admitted.
Alongside the announcement, Coleen revealed that she also left some soft toys and letters for her children so they would ‘know that I am constantly thinking of them.’
“Don’t get me wrong. I am really anxious about leaving the kids. That’s my biggest thing, and [sic] for weeks and months that’s been on my mind, but I’ve come to terms with it,” Coleen further explained.

She also said: “I’ve planned, I’ve prepped. I’ve got an army of people, family, friends, school friends all helping out with the kids, so they are going to be fine, and they are probably going to have a great time when I’m away.”

The new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is almost upon us and a bunch of famous faces will be spending a bit of time in the jungle.
It all begins again on 17 November so there’s not much time remaining for any last minute injuries or illnesses that’d force ITV to dig out the contacts book and see if anyone fancies being showered in bugs and eating a variety of unpleasant things.
There are TV stars, footballer’s wives, singers and everything in between who will all be attempting win the title of King or Queen of the Jungle for 2024.
If you’ve seen the show then you’ll know that the winner gets to be treated to a spot of pomp and ceremony as the bridge they walk across to leave the jungle explodes in fireworks, while there’s also a fancy throne for them to sit in.
Most shows like this would offer some kind of cash prize for the winner, but that’s not how I’m A Celeb works as the overall winner doesn’t get handed a big pile of money for their troubles.
Ant and Dec will put on a fireworks show for you and let you sit in a nice throne, but don’t expect extra cash for winning (ITV)
They’re already celebrities so they might not really need it and it’s not hard to argue that the cash prize the celebrities get is their appearance fee on the show.
That’s just how I’m A Celeb does things, the famous bunch are competing for the honour of being King or Queen of the Jungle.
There’s also likely to be lucrative work coming the way of the various celebrities once they get home. If they do well on I’m A Celeb, then everyone looking to hire a celebrity knows exactly who the public like.
Before signing onto the show each celebrity will have negotiated a contract where they’d have agreed on an appearance fee to be paid – that’s the cash prize for them.
Of course you can’t just walk in and out of the jungle and expect to walk away with all the money on the table, according to the Metro the celebrities have to stay in camp for at least 72 hours to get their full payment.
Each celebrity will have negotiated an appearance fee to be on the show, but they can’t just dip out on the first day (ITV)
The amount they get doesn’t depend on when they get voted out either, so even those who have to leave early don’t miss out on money.
Not all of the celebrities will be paid the same as each other, as depending on their fame and profile the fee they can command is going to vary.
