When Anne was unable to bear him a son, her husband Matthew filed for divorce, but they continued to live together. After running with Harry, an old school buddy, one day, Anne came to the conclusion that her life would be much better off without Matthew. When she unintentionally ran into her ex-husband again years later, she hardly recognized him.
During a break from her five girls, Anne ran across her old school acquaintance Harry one day. “Anne! I’m really happy to see you! On the street, Harry greeted her. They agreed to catch up over coffee because they hadn’t seen one another in a long time.
While conversing, Harry inquired about her family. “It’s intricate,” Anne answered. After we delivered our twins, Matthew underwent a shift. He was quite upset that we had girls when he was hoping for a boy. He sued for divorce following the birth of our fifth daughter. I have no idea what to do.
“It sounds really difficult,” Harry said with empathy. However, it might be for the best. He doesn’t appear to have been a loving father to your daughters. You have been handling everything by yourself already.
At Anne’s place, things grew worse. Matthew continued to remain there while they were divorcing, partying, acting single, and making things difficult for the girls. Harry volunteered to assist, and Anne eventually lost patience when Matthew brought a girl into their house. She gathered her daughters and headed out.
After a protracted divorce, the judge decided in Anne’s favor, awarding her complete custody of their home. Harry and Anne moved in together, and Harry eventually married Anne. After they fell in love, Anne’s thoughts of Matthew ceased.
Years later, Anne and Harry had a son named Alan, and she was overjoyed. She met Matthew at the pretzel shop when she was taking Alan to the mall one day. There he worked, giving away free samples.
Matthew? Why are you in this place? Startled, Anne enquired. Matthew was working a minimum-wage job, but he had once been a successful executive. Anne didn’t care that he hadn’t paid child support because Harry was more than enough to maintain their family.
Matthew had an embarrassed expression. “I made terrible decisions that cost me everything,” he acknowledged. Can the house be sold?
Though she didn’t have to, Anne gave him half of the house when she decided to sell it because she felt bad for him. When Matthew later inquired to see the girls, they expressed no interest in spending time with him. After a while, he stopped phoning, and they lost contact with him.
With Harry, Anne realized she had made the proper decision to move on and provide a happy life for her girls.
