Mother: “Here’s why I’m sharing my daughter’s last moments on Facebook”

Zoey was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of three. She had a happy childhood filled with love and energy, just like many other kids. She was a cheerful, active child before the illness.

Zoey had a fall while playing one day. After a few weeks, she experienced a loss of strength in both her hands, as reported by CBS8. The family quickly realized that something was amiss with Zoey and immediately rushed her to the hospital.

Upon arrival, they were informed by the doctor that their precious daughter had DIPG, a rare and aggressive brain tumor, a message that will stay with them forever.

The family experienced a tragedy and nightmare that no one would want even on their worst enemy.

They stayed strong for Zoey and supported her through multiple cancer treatments over the next two years. The family discovered a clinic in Germany where Zoey showed positive results from radiation therapy. However, her response eventually ceased.

Zoey’s condition quickly deteriorated, leading to an inevitable outcome. She peacefully passed away at her home in the United States on July 4, 2018. Despite the family being naturally devastated by her upcoming death, her parents discovered shortly before it happened that they could spend some valuable last moments together.

Zoey never stopped spreading happiness, even in her last moments. Her parents invited all their loved ones to visit and spend time with her before it was too late.

Now, her courageous mother has made the brave choice to post the family’s final moment on Facebook.

“I shared it because even though it’s a painful moment, it’s a beautiful moment in our eyes,” Casey informed the Daily Mail..

The photo displays the parents embracing their beloved daughter.

They had taken a seat on the sofa with the family’s dog. They had enjoyed the day singing Disney songs. A Harry Potter film was showing on TV. And in the midst of tranquility and serenity, Zoey disappeared out of the blue.

Zoey’s love and light will be shared with everyone. She has been generous, and we will keep spreading kindness.

Zoey’s heart stopped halfway through the movie.

“I had seen a handful of families sharing moments and originally I didn’t think I was going to share it. ‘But I thought: “I want a photo like that taken”. I want those moments captured so I can remember them forever even when my brain is gone,” she brought up

The family behind Zoey’s Light Facebook page aims to share the hope and positivity that Zoey brought to the world during her lifetime. Their goal is to motivate others to support and cherish one another, embracing love and gratitude in their everyday lives.

No parent would ever have to go through what Caseby and Ben got to experience. Casey and Ben, you two are the best parents ever. I will always pray for you. Zoey is now our guardian angel.

Zoey, may you find eternal peace.
